Megafon Központ

Megafon Központ is a pro-government influencer network partially financed by state-linked and oligarchic sources that spent well over a million euros during campaign periods spreading hostile narratives against the opposition, civil society, and the EU. During the European Parliament election campaign, EDMO analysts documented how sponsored disinformation content was run across social media platforms, generating substantial revenue for the platforms themselves. The organisation's funding is formally attributed to 'private donors', but investigative reporting has traced significant indirect public-money origins in its financial background. Megafon's operations represent one of the most visible examples of the deliberate poisoning of Hungary's information environment, fundamentally undermining the conditions for free elections.
